THEATRE, ARTS & EVENTS
ARTS EDUCATION

Participants of all ages can explore their creativity by enrolling in the many courses offered by the Performing, Fine Arts and Community Events Department.

The CenterStage is home to the popular Young Actors Theatre Program working with participants ages 7-16 in the skills and processes necessary to create a theatrical performance.

The Dance Studio holds our preschool dance and Introduction to the Young Actors Theatre classes.

The Art Studio in the RCC at Lake Anne hosts a full menu of visual arts courses for youth, teens, adults and seniors and our summer L.A.R.K. (Lake Anne Arts Rave for Kids) visual arts program.

The Ceramics Studio is also located in the Lake Anne Facility. The studio is equipped with eight wheels, slab roller, two kilns, and a glazing and firing zone. The studio offers Beginning to Advanced level wheel classes, Handbuilding, Sculpture, Senior Ceramics, and topic-specific workshops as well as open studio time. Stop by and play in the mud!
The Ceramics Lab will be closed from August 20 - September 6, 2008, and reopen on September 10, 2008.

In addition to the many classes that are offered each season our department also ventures out into the community with Artist Residencies involving professional touring artists visiting small district 5 based elementary, middle and high schools in conjunction with their CenterStage Professional Touring Artist Series appearances.
