Artist Angie MagrAngie Magruderuder has been painting her entire life. Born in Germany, she grew up surrounded by the artistic creations of both her German grandfather and mother. Since Angie's father and husband were army officers, Angie travelled throughout the world, always painting - either in her mind or on paper and canvas.

Angie's professional training includes a BA in Education and Art. She has studied with international artists John E. Carter, Zoltan Szabo, Dong Kingman, Gary Akres, and Don Andrews. She has had many one-woman shows; the most prestigious was in Europe's world famous German-American University, in Tuebingen, Germany where she was the only American ever invited to show there. She has colorized over 30 of West Point Academy’s individual year's Class Crests and created art for the Ft. Myer Women's Club monthly magazine covers. Angie taught classes for 13 years at "The Fairfax" retirement center, has won several prizes, has taught drawing and painting for the Reston Community Center, and presently teaches private classes.

About this exhibit, Angie said, "I had so much fun creating a variety of styles and compositions, using different mediums. Although my primary medium of choice is watercolor I added some acrylic pieces using both 'water and oil' acrylic techniques. Loving nature as I do (why we live in Reston!) I chose that as the theme for this show. I hope the joy I had creating these pieces, will transfer to the viewer!"
