VOLUNTEERS

VolunteersVolunteer opportunities at RCC put you in the heart of the Reston Community

So Close to You. So Much to Do...by volunteering with the Friends of the Reston Community Center. Volunteers offer invaluable support to our programs, activities and events, as well as administrative assistance. We encourage students who have community service requirements to look for meaningful ways to fulfill them by being a Reston Community Center volunteer. Upcoming programs like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration Weekend and much more need your assistance to be successful. Volunteer applications are available at both RCC facilities, or can be downloaded from the RCC website. Please send applications to Haywood Hopson, or fax them to 703-476-8617. Make a difference in your community by volunteering! People who volunteer for the Reston Community Center become members of the Friends of RCC automatically once they have completed five hours of volunteer service. You can also become a member by making a donation. Friends of the Reston Community Center is a 501 (c) 3 organization and all monetary contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

There are so many opportunities for volunteering at RCC, and your contribution of your time and skills are deeply valued by RCC staff and the community. Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, to meet your neighbors, and broaden your horizons.

In addition, volunteering strengthens community ties by providing everyone an opportunity to "give back" to the community. Your volunteer hours qualify for membership in RCC. Students can also earn community service credits through volunteer work.

To volunteer to help at RCC Events, complete the volunteer form and return it to the RCC volunteer coordinator. Here’s a list of volunteer opportunities at RCC:
