Make MLK Day a Day On, Not a Day Off

Reston Community Center will hold the 28th Annual Reston Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration on January 19 and 20, 2013. The focus of this year's Celebration will be on community service. The 2013 Celebration will include events at RCC Hunters Woods, Southgate Community Center, and Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation.

Reston Community Center is honored to welcome former NAACP Chairman and Founder of the Student Nonviolent Coordination Committee Julian Bond as the keynote speaker on Sunday, January 20. For more information on Julian Bond, visit the Keynote Speaker page. NOTE: Sunday's Keynote Address is Fully Registered; No Further Admission Will Be Possible Due to Fire Code Regulations.

Additional highlights this year include "Are We Keeping the Promise?", the exhibit highlighting the art work of Reston's school-age children celebrating Dr. King's legacy, a performance by Reston Community Orchestra, the 23rd Voices of Inspiration Anniversary Program, and the annual Commemorative March.
