Reception: Saturday, December 711:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

During the 21st Annual Gifts from the HeART Exhibit, a benefit for Cornerstones, artists will display and sell original works of art in watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media and photography in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery. The exhibit runs from December 2, 2019 to January 7, 2020. In the 3D Gallery from December 2, 2019 to February 14, 2020, there will be pottery, bead, fabric, glass and woodwork items. On December 7, RCC Lake Anne will be filled with tables of gorgeous handmade items from varied and talented artists at the Gifts From the HeART shopping event.  All entry fees and 10% of sales are donated to Cornerstones to support its important work in the community.

The December 7 shopping events turns RCC Lake Anne into a festive marketplace of food and gifts from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. There will be holiday refreshments available as shoppers browse the many tables of original artwork, including ornaments, small and large paintings, notecards, textiles, pottery, sculpture, fused glass, and jewelry.

Participating artists donate 10% of proceeds from sales during the shopping event and throughout the month of December (through February 14 in the 3D Gallery) to help Cornerstones continue its important work. This includes operation of the Embry Rucker Community Shelter, Laurel Learning Center and Cornerstones’ Community Services Outreach, which provides job counseling, emergency food, and youth programs. Approximately $15,700 has been raised for Cornerstones since the annual exhibit was first held in 1999.

“The Gifts from the HeART exhibit brings artists and community members together for a wonderful cause,” said Cheri Danaher, RCC’s Arts Education Director. “Through this event, everyone involved can enjoy fantastic works of art, celebrate the holidays, and also support those in need in our area.”
