Reston Community Orchestra – Unbridled Passion

Reston Community Orchestra – Unbridled Passion
October 16, 2021 4:00 PM

Saturday, October 16 • 4:00 p.m.
RCC Hunters Woods – Community Room

The Reston Community Orchestra’s inaugural program, “Unbridled Passion” features three works: Carl Maria von Weber’s Jubilee Overture, Frederic Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2, and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 1

Each composer demonstrates intense feelings about their respective life experiences. Unlike Weber’s other overtures, Jubilee is not tied to an opera and was written out of the composer’s own sense of an inner joie de vivre, and to honor a milestone in the life of a monarch he passionately admired. Mendelssohn’s first symphony illustrates the vigor, passion and teenager’s “devil-may-care” personality (he wrote the piece at age 15), while Chopin’s piano concerto demonstrates the full range of human emotions, drawn from Chopin's rather sad and introverted life.

Tickets: Adult-$25, Senior (60+)-$18, Youth (-17)-Free, Active Military/First Responder-Free (All persons must have tickets, including infants and children sitting on laps).
